"Political" in civic work"السياسي" في العمل المدني
Within the network, "political" means taking a position on power, parties or the outcome of the war. Advocating for humanitarian access is not political in this sense.
Conflict sensitivityالحساسية للنزاع
Working in a way that does not deepen existing divisions, assessed before every activity.
De-radicalizationمناهضة التطرف
Communication and programming that reduce polarization and support coexistence and tolerance.
Decentralizationاللامركزية
Transfer of authority, resources or administration from a centre to lower levels. Deconcentration, delegation and devolution are distinct forms.
Democratic arrangementsالترتيبات الديمقراطية
The concrete rules — elections, rotation, quorum, appeal — that make collective decisions legitimate.
Institutional memoryالذاكرة المؤسسية
Documented decisions, lessons and practices that remain available after individuals and leaderships change.
Local governanceالحكم المحلي
Decision making by and for a locality, with legitimacy drawn from the community it serves.
Mutual aidالعون المتبادل
Aid organised and delivered by the community that needs it, on the basis of solidarity rather than charity.
Post-ERRما بعد غرف الطوارئNeeds clarification
Used to describe what the response rooms become after the emergency phase. The term is not yet agreed across the network and requires clarification before it is used in programme documents.
Solidarity economyالاقتصاد التضامني
Economic activity organised around shared need and reciprocity rather than profit.
